Sound quality takes center stage in Mits’ new line of premium LCDs; ears approve.
The Unisen Series is Mitsubishi’s newest boost to its premium TV line, interestingly, audio is very high on the feature list. These TVs have a multichannel amplifier and 16-speaker Dolby Digital
MITSUBISHI UNISEN LT-52249 have the 5.1-channel surround system built into the set. Signal processing is used to expand the sound field, and users can optimize performance by entering room dimensions and fine-tuning “locations” and levels for each of the surround channels. There’s also a subwoofer output, with separate level control accessible directly from the TV’s remote. Mitsubishi boasts that its Unisen TVs will let viewers enjoy good sound quality without the
need for separate audio components. SEE YE The sets also include a CableCard slot for connecting to digital cable without a set-top box. On the picture side, the TVs feature Smooth 120-Hz Film Motion and an Advanced Video Calibration menu for getting the picture to look just right. Four HDMI 1.3a inputs round out the package.
